Why play First Edition?
Monthly updated Current Rulings and approximately 300 pages of glossary caused the downfall of the First Edition. More and more players sold their cards and stopped playing. On the other hand potential new players were scared off by the countless rules and the complex interaction.
A new Trek game had to be
released and was designed quite similar to the LotR-CCG. Easy rules and the
promise of not accelerating the game with continuously released overpowered
cards should be attractive to both veterans and beginners. And Decipher did a
good job, at least till now. The affiliations are quite balanced, there are no
overpowered Delta affiliations or that much lock-out strategies like in First
