We distinguish generally between 'normal' expansions and special sets on openCards. For Star Trek Second Edition we follow Decipher's partition and handel all editions as 'normal' expansions, that have thier own expansion number in Deciphers collector's info.
Each game has its own characteristics around expansions, special editions and rarities. Our goal on openCards was to define a universal presentation of all games without loosing these characteristics.
Therefore we define here on openCards a universal taxonomy for the identification of each different card called Universal Card Tools Identifier (UCT-ID). We use these ID for cards of all games on openCards. How this ID shows for Second Edition you can see on the site about the Universal Card Tools Identifier for ST2E.
Furthermore each card on openCards has a extensive Collectors Info. This info describes all form the collectors point of view interesting attributes of a single card. It contains information about the print style of a card, about reprints and mutch more. In the cards area where each card has it's own page you will find this Collectors Info.
