Used tools and frameworks
We use several open source tools and framworks to build our ST2E Deckbuilder. Without the open source idea and especial the following tools and framworks this project would not be possible.

Java: The ST2E Deckbuilder is written in Java (JDK 5.0). You need a Java Runtime (free Java virtual machine) on your computer to run Collection Manager. You will find all you need and more information about Java here: www.java.com.

Eclipse: The Eclipse Platform provides the core frameworks and services upon which all plug-in extensions are created. It also provides the runtime in which plug-ins are loaded, integrated, and executed. The primary purpose of the Platform is to enable other tool developers to easily build and deliver integrated tools. We use Eclipse to develop ST2E Deckbuilder in Java. For more information see: www.eclipse.org/platform.

MySOL: The ST2E Deckbuilder is based on a MySQL database (for all the information about the cards . We use MySQL Community Edition (GPL) to start a embedded MySQL server when you launch the ST2E Deckbuilder programm on port 3337. See www.mysql.com for more information.

PDFBox: PDFBox is an open source Java PDF library for working with PDF documents. We use this library to create trade lists in PDF format (actual version PDFBox-0.7.2). See www.pdfbox.org for more information.

dom4j: dom4j is an easy to use, open source library for working with XML, XPath and XSLT on the Java platform using the Java Collections Framework and with full support for DOM, SAX and JAXP. For ST2E Deckbuilder we store your decks on your computer as XML file. See www.dom4j.org for more information.

IzPack: IzPack is an installers generator for the Java platform. It produces lightweight installers that can be run on any operating system where a Java virtual machine is available. We use this open source framework to build the install programm for ST2E Deckbuilder. For more information about IzPack see izpack.org.
