"'One by one, regardless of their strength to good or evil...they fell.'"

Worry is one of those Fellowship set cards that got a lot of use when first released, and gradually faded into the background as further sets came out, and then suddenly exploded back on the scene when the Isengard Trackers were introduced with The Two Towers base set, because anything that keys off winning a skirmish is twice as good when you have twice as many skirmishes to win.

"'Some of the Southrons have broken from the trap and are flying from the road.'"

While the presence of Ring-bound Rangers prohibits you from being able to make an entire deck around just the Southron Assassin, it is a good solid card to have for those times when you face decks without several Ring-bound Companions. And if the only Ring-bound Companion your opponent plays is Frodo then this card can definitely be a game winner.

"'I have not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a serving-man till the lightning falls.'"

Ok, Gandalf has the most effective condition removal, no question about it. But Dunland's nastiest permanent, Hides, isn't a condition, it's a possession. Add in the new possession-based strategies of the Isengard Warg-riders, and the Raiders' Mumaks, not to mention the Ringwraith's Black Steeds, the Uruak-Hai's Broad-bladed Swords, and possessions are clearly an important part of many Shadow strategies.

Which prompts the question - how do you get rid of them?

Gandalf, of course, has the answer to this one as well, in Roll of Thunder.

"'The Rohirrim have good bowmen after their fashion, but there are too few here, too few.'"

Directed Archery is a very powerful ability, but until now it's been reserved for just two Free Peoples Companions. Legolas, Greenleaf and Aragorn (with his bow) have been picking off minions with ease since the game's inception, but with the release of the Battle of Helm's Deep expansion, others are going to get a crack at it - a lot of others. For just one twilight, the Rohirrim Bow gives the directed archery capability to any companion of the Rohan Culture.

imageDwarven Heart

This Card-Review article was written by Johnny Crawford and was published first on "Lord of the Rings Online (lotrtcg.decipher.com)".

FotR

"'... a Dwarf goes on, be the burden twice his own weight ...'"

When The Fellowship of the Ring base set was initially released, Dwarven Heart was deemed unusable by most players. While healing a Dwarf twice is definitely good, exerting the bearer each turn was too great a cost. Though condition removal like Sleep, Caradhras could be used to discard this condition after gaining the benefit of the healing, it was hardly practical. Now, a year and a half after Dwarven Heart was relegated to players' binders, it may be time to pull it out again.
