    Lurin

DaiMon who illegally mined vendarite on Ligos VII. Tried to take over the U.S.S. Enterprise. Would've succeeded, too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.

    Lurin
Lurin counts as "matching commander" for the following ships or facilities:

Hands-down winner of the coolest lore in the expansion (and possibly the game), but what else is he good for? CUNNING of 8 is very handy for Chula: The Dice, while STRENGTH of 7 on an OFFICER is always desirable for Maglock. Transporter Skill will deal with Orion Syndicate Bomb and allow him to go and Deliver Supplies with Kasidy Yates, and Geology is handy for passing Seismic Quake and Odo (DS9)'s "Cousin." Greed is almost a prerequisite in a Ferengi deck, allowing you access to many of the Rules of Acquisition and the opportunity to indulge in a bit of Bribery.

One other "virtue" that Lurin has is that many of his devoted crew appear in this set and mention him in their card lore. So his Greed provides a sweet key into the 6th Rule of Acquisition; use them when it suits you, and then trade them in for something more useful - that critical piece of equipment, or some extra cards perhaps.

His special download of Forced-Labor Camp is very nice to have if you plan on using the whole gamut of Archaeology and Geology missions but are too tight to bribe your way in. By playing Lurin in your deck, he saves you a precious seed slot, while ensuring that you can access Forced Labor Camp when you need it for no card play.

    Combos:

    • Lurin + Solok + Reopen Dig: 2 people, easy 25 points (and it uses me)!
    • Lurin + Hunt for DNA Program: Go straight for the big one. Access this mission with Forced Labor Camp, without the transient effect of Bribery or using Uncover DNA Clues (which often attracts a Dead End).
    • Lurin + his crew + 6th Rule of Acquisition: Personnel management, the Ferengi way!
