    Solok

This Card-Review article was written by Neil Kirby and was published first on "Decipher's Website (decipher.com)" at Nov 6th, 1999.

Brad, but I'm gorgeous! The most illustrious DaiMon finally appears in print - and as a common so that my adoring public can share in the Solok Experience. So, apart from gazing in awe at the picture, how does the rest of the card look?

A universal OFFICER with respectable strength is a good deal, for getting past a number of dilemmas in space (e.g. Maglock), or on the ground (e.g. Crisis). His stats are decent, with his low INTEGRITY acting as both a help (e.g. Drumhead), and a hindrance (e.g. Firestorm). Pair him with the Albino to get past Chula: The Door, but careful who he'll have as a Strange Bedfellow if you're not watching.

Skillwise, you just can't have too much MEDICAL, with such combos as Hippocratic Oath + Tarellian Plague Ship + Aphasia Device continuing to be popular. Smuggling is a rare skill that will snare you a few points from Arms Deal and help you Acquire Illicit Explosives (with Amaros) or make a Kressari Rendezvous by himself. And Archaeology? A very useful Ferengi talent that becomes much more useful if you're prepared to Bribe a few people.

    Combos:

    • Lots of Soloks: Dazzle your opponent as you deploy these handsome beasts, and destroy her concentration.
    • Solok + Amaros + Suna: 3 common universal personnel who can Search For Weapons and then redeem them at Kressari Rendezvous for a total 75 points. Throw in Acquire Illicit Explosives or Test Propulsion Systems and you are home. Cheap, but not nasty.
