    Cellular Peptide Cake

At first glance, the three-cost event Cellular Peptide Cake is nothing more than another event removal card... but this little card has a different taste to it.

Cellular Peptide Cake allows you to return any non-Referee Icon event in an opponent's core to its owner's hand, but it allows the same for each of your opponents. As of the release of Genesis, there are no Referee Icon events in Second Edition, so any opponent's core event is a possible target. Being First Edition compatible, however, this card will find use in that environment, too.

It is worth noting that the targeted core events are not destroyed, but only returned to hand. While not as powerful, it may still be possible to postpone your opponent's Far-Seeing Eyes for one or more turns, which can make a huge difference. Another notable characteristic of the card is its Replicate keyword; discarding an event from hand when the Cake is played will make it reusable. This may seem very appealing, but don't forget that each opponent is allowed the same action. Therefore, I see this card being used more in decks that use relatively fewer events rather than event-heavy decks. This way, your opponent will have to take back his or her events while not being able to force you to do the same. Just keep in mind that you'll need enough events to be able to Replicate the Cake if that is your desire.

The 'To play this event' condition makes this card very interesting, as you must command a personnel of the Klingon species. Surely, the Klingon affiliation will receive the most benefit from this card. But let us not forget that the Bajorans, the Federation and even the Romulans count some of the warrior species amongst their personnel.

In all, this is an interesting card which will take some consideration before being put it in your deck.
