With a skill for almost any occasion, Beverly and Will are a worthy inclusion in nearly any kind of deck. It starts off with double CIVILIAN, a guaranteed 4 points per turn at a Colony. They also provide two staff icons, making it very easy to fly the ship that gets them there.
Turn to Beverly, and you'll find the MEDICAL x2 offered by her previous incarnations, along with Biology. Together the skills will help combat popular hazards like Aphasia Device, Flaxian Assassin, Hippocratic Oath, Hyper-Aging, and Rascals. Then toss in a handy new download of any tricorder. While her own CIVILIAN classification will prevent her from getting much use out of the equipment, it will still be well-used by your other personnel.
As for Will, he offers the expected Navigation and Diplomacy, which are needed against Navigational Hazards, Armus - Sticky Situation, Shaka, When the Walls Fell, and others. He's also picked up the skill of Anthropology, a perfect complement to his CIVILIAN classification for overcoming Primitive Culture.
All this, yet none of it is Beverly and Will's most attractive feature. That award goes to their Non-Aligned icon. They can fit into any non-Borg deck, and with an array of skills like that (to say nothing of their combined attributes), why wouldn't you use them? Warp Speed players have even more to be happy about. Beverly and Will can contribute at least one skill to over half the missions you can get from a Premiere expansion pack!
Combos:
- Beverly and Will + Paul Porter:A download of any tricorder, plus a download of any PADD. Together you can use them to spread lots of extra skills around your personnel, or to double up and create your own super-Personnel.
- Beverly and Will + Tallera: Although Tallera wouldn't normally work with these two, here that's no problem. Not only do you get MEDICAL, SCIENCE, and SECURITY by combining these two cards, you get over half a dozen other skills - and not one duplicated between them.
- Beverly and Will + opponent's Q-Type Android: How about a Non-Aligned version of the William T. Riker personnel to deal with your opponent's nasty android combo?
